THE STORY OF AEM FILTERS

AEM Air Filters are one of the largest and most successful manufacturers of aftermarket performance air filters in the world. Creating the first “out of the box” induction kit for a Honda CRX in 1994 they have an outstanding and long knowledge of performance intake tuning which has reached worldwide recognition for extremely well made, excellent fitment bolt on intake tuning kits. This gave people the ability to purchase great value bolt on performance parts for their cars which was something of the impossible those years ago. In the market today, AEM offer an extensive range of products for many different vehicles stretching into the hundreds of variations.

AEM were one of the first companies to design their performance intakes with specific tubing diameter and intake length sizes to fine tune the pressure inside the inlet. Doing so will create much more control over the power gains which the vehicle gets throughout the rev range. They also coined the phrase “Cold Air Intake” after researching & developing out of the box intakes and how cooler air effects the combustion of an engine and increase the power / torque output.

In 1999 AEM Filters worked side by side with K&N Air Filters, the largest manufacturer of performance air filters in the world to develop a new kind of cone air filter which delivers a much smoother intake of air and enhances flow. Not only this but they were the creator of the “Dual Chamber Intake” which further adds to performance by creating two pressures inside the intake pipe using a larger diameter intake and then shortening this before reaching the throttle body and inlet manifold. A unique bypass system has also been developed which is an industry first, this allows hydro lock (where the engine takes on water) to be eliminated if the air filter is to be submerged in water for a short period of time.

AEM Filters are the pioneers of creating out of the box intake kits for Honda vehicles with engine swaps with their “Hybrid Intakes”. This allows many popular chassis such as the EG or EK Civic carrying a B18 or H22 engine swap to have a perfect intake without the worry of fitment such as having to choose one for the chassis or engine.. You can now choose both!

AEM Filters have now gone on to develop the brand new “Electronically Tuned Intake” which has the solution to MAF sensor scaling problems when fitting an aftermarket intake and ensure the MAF sensor gives the correct reading when fitting an AEM system to enhance power and air flow. They have also branched out with their “Brute Force” and “Brute Force HD” to the U.S modern muscle car and popular truck and SUV range which give outstanding performance increases.
